This good looking container has saved the day for the village of Thornton le Dale, North Yorkshire, when the future of their community Christmas lights display and switch-on event came under threat. After 27 years of holding this magical event, the future looked bleak when they lost the use of the two donated containers in which they stored all their event equipment. This 40ft, cladded tunnel container (doors at both ends), saved the day, thanks to lottery funding.
Tunnel containers are very handy for containers used for storage, making loading and unloading a lot less hassle, as both ends can be accessed easily. The cladding and sloping roof we added enabled the container to be granted from the North York Moors National Park Planning Authority, as the container needed to be kept in a conservation area.
We ply lined and insulated inside the container to maintain dry, condensation-free conditions that are essential for long term storage of delicate contents.
