This container has been created as a key part of an important project for Somerset NHS Trust, to support patients in the hospital with respiratory viruses, including Covid.
The container has been converted to safely accommodate the storage of vital emergency oxygen tanks. For this purpose it must be highly secure, reinforced to support the weight of the tanks, well ventilated and free from any combustible materials. By fitting multiple vents and a steel floor plate we were able to ensure strength, security and safety. The cleats fitted to the top of the container are for an insulated roof cover to be fitted, in order to keep the container at a more consistent temperature all year round. Usually ply lining inside a container will do this job, but as plywood is a combustible material, external insulation on the roof is a good alternative.
