Founded in 1995 originally as Duffy Plant Hire Inishowen, this company has enjoyed a dynamic and progressive expansion in recent years, providing civil engineering, groundworks and site clearance together with the traditional hiring of heavy plant and machinery and associated labour in a professional and efficient manner. With the new, role-encompassing company title – DPH Groundworks Ltd – adopted in 2001 in Fahan, the company has undertaken several high profile projects for blue chip clients within Ireland, including Bam and Stewarts Group, Adston as well as top NI companies like the McGinnis Group, O’Hare & McGovern and TAL Ltd. DPH also carry out work for the Donegal County Council and small private contracts for plant hire Inishowen. DPH Groundworks Ltd’s Plant Yard and Administrative Office enjoys a prominent and accessible position in Lisfannon Industrial Estate, based on the main Buncrana – Derry Road, in Lisfannon, Fahan, Co Donegal. Our full range of plant and machinery is stored and maintained on our own premises when not on-site and is available for viewing where possible. The company is divided into dedicated divisions with each responsible for particular projects and sections of projects. The divisions are: Groundworks & Civils Industrial Development Utility Services Drainage External works Commercial & Retail Housing – Social and Private Excavations & Site Clearance Each project is headed by a committed site foreman with responsibilty for all other operatives on that particular project and the company directors and the Principal Contractor. The company directors oversee all divisions with a hands-on approach, enabling them to direct work processes with efficiency and professionalism. Our employees number 40-50 on average and have many years of experience in their particular fields. We are totally committed to compliance with and maintenance of our own high safety standards in conjunction with the Health and Safety Authority. We employ our own Safety Officer who provides individual, tailor made Method Statements and Risk Assessments for each new project undertaken. Professional and efficient performance with a “nil accidents” policy is our target. We provide standard Safety Statements on all projects and each of our employees hold up-to-date training certificates, machine tickets and Safe Pass Certification which are available for inspection together with our Public and Employer’s Insurance Liability Insurance Policies. Our limits of indemnity are €7 million for Public Liability and €30million for Employer’s Liability. The company’s administrative and financial workload is fully computerised and our office is open from Monday – Friday from 9am to 5pm. Our administrative team strive to supply a fast, friendly and professional service to clients and provide strong back-up to directors and on-site employees.
