The RC SMicro Series is a small version of a 1/2” AODD pump. Designed for applications where a pump may be integrated as part of a machine, they were built to be controlled remotely via an external PLC and solenoid valves controlling the volume of air injected into each diaphragm delivering up to 35L/min at up to 8 bar.
Controlled volumes of air are injected via two separate inlet ports located on the pumps central block. Air lines are connected to an actuated valve which feeds the required volume into each side of the pump. This design differs to typical AODD Pump construction as they are built without a central air exchanger, meaning the central block contains only a shaft which reciprocates back and forth.
An external PLC can control all aspects of the pump which include pump speed, number of cycles, switching point and volume of air transferred into the pump during each cycle. This ensures a metered output is inline with your process requirements.
The RC Series is typically used for the metering or dosing of fluids within liquid filling machines or packaging machinery within the packaging industry.
This unit can handle a wide range of fluids which include inks, chemicals, glues & adhesives, liquid slurries containing solid particles, gels, resins, fuels, oils and grout.
The accuracy of the pump is determined by the volume in each chamber and they are often used in conjunction with flowmeters in applications requiring a high dosing accuracy.
The design is based on our existing robust boxer design, where diaphragms can be supplied in a variety of materials including NBR, Santoprene, EPDM, Hytrel and PTFE, with the casing manufactured in a variety of plastics, or metals chemically compatible with a wide range of process fluids.
This range of pump is truly versatile having the ability to handle viscosities up to 20000cp, and solid passage up to 2mm making it suitable for handling a vast range of fluids that are far beyond the capabilities of other pump types. It also has a low shear pumping action making it suited for any fluids where inappropriate handling may cause a change to a fluids consistency.
This diaphragm pump is Atex zone 2 as standard which can be upgraded to Zone 1 making this pump suitable for operation in the most hazardous of environments. The SMicro is also able to operate in high humidity environments which may cause issues for pumps fitted with electric motors.
The RC SMicro AODD pump is able to run dry for long periods and is capable of self-priming up to 4m vertically from dry, but when wetted can prime up to 9.5M. The flow rates from this diaphragm pump can be varied very easily altered allowing the operator to control flow rates precisely. This unit can achieve flow rates up to 35L/min.
Features:
– Self Priming from Dry up to 4M (9.5M when wetted)
– Solid Handling
– Adjustable flow
