GCS Cabins was formed by Gary Sheppard in 2007. Before GCS Cabins came into being, Gary worked as an installer of modular buildings. This enabled him to build up his knowledge of the pros and cons of different types of off-site constructed buildings and learn the dos and don’ts when installing them! In addition, he wasn’t always convinced that the people buying the buildings were getting the best service from their suppliers. He could see how their experiences could be improved, so he decided to start his own company. Enter GCS Cabins!
Obviously, in the early days of GCS Cabins, Gary was still very much involved in installations but, as the company grew, he was able to spend more time researching new products and fostering relationships with different manufacturers. This is where the magic began; GCS Cabins combines hands-on installation experience gained ‘on the job’ along with long-term, close relationships with a wide range of manufacturers. A rare combination within the industry.
Today GCS Cabins is very much a family business. Cheryl, Gary’s wife, joined the company in the early days taking on the increasing amount of administration any successfully growing company generates. More recently, the next generation has joined the business in the form of Cheryl and Gary’s children, Jade and Charlie. Of course, it isn’t just the family, they are supported by a committed team of people, all experts in their own fields within GCS Cabins.
The company is always striving to improve the service they provide and the buildings they offer. It wasn’t so long ago that a modular building looked like a modular building and customers were happy to accept this. This is no longer the case; customers don’t want clunky, ugly buildings that look like every other modular building. They want aesthetically pleasing, flexible, efficient buildings. Luckily they have GCS Cabins to turn to for help.
