ABOUT US
Never has an image been more pertinent or had such an impact as that of the two yellow JCB 3CX above. It’s by no coincidence that our first machines were yellow, as the boyhood dream of our founder was finally realised.
At the age of 7, my passion for all things mechanical was already evident. My love of cars, Land Rovers and bright yellow machinery providing motivation through my years of education. Many hours spent watching yellow diggers build the vast quantities of houses surrounding our home, and subconsciously learning about building.
Whilst school wasn’t of particular interest to me, I did excel in anything practical, artistic, graphical or to do with sport. With a career in construction almost inevitable, I had to admit defeat, and accept I wouldn’t drive the yellow machines I was so fond of. Instead, pursing a BSc Hons degree in Construction Management, to pay for my expensive taste in Range Rovers.
Two influential figures in my life, my grandfather and great uncle, both having very successful careers in the construction industry, supported my passion for machines and desire to follow in their footsteps. Similarly, my dad gave up his Saturday’s to visit JCB, a place where still to my disbelief we’re now a regular customer.
During my final years of education and early career, it was apparent entrepreneurial blood ran through my veins, as I dabbled with many successful small businesses including, online decal sales, Tree Surgery, Bespoke Garden Furniture and Hard Landscaping to name a few. However, with what felt like a natural ability for building, management and leadership, the draw of my career and security of employment took grip.
15 years later, I’m a chartered Construction Professional with experience delivering large commercial developments for blue chip clients, across a number of sectors both in the UK and Europe.
