With its clean lines, seamless finish and boundless possibilities, Simon knew he was made to work with artisanal products that require a high degree of skill and understanding to apply professionally.
He had always been fascinated by interiors and aesthetics and saw an opportunity to combine his interests and abilities in a business.
Technical training and artistic ability
Applying Venetian marble plaster requires a high level of competence and technique and cannot be done by just anyone. Firstly, you need the right training from the experts and relevant experience, but it’s not all about technique. You also need some artistic vision and flair to interpret and create the end finish. An eye for colour, texture, and design is key. Simon trained first in Venetian marble plaster and quickly discovered he wanted to expand his skill set and the options he could offer to his clients. So, Tadelakt and Microcement were added to his arsenal as they both also offer luxurious finishes and endless possibilities.
Venetian plaster, Tadelakt, and Microcement are all very versatile, being water resistant, more hygienic, and easier to care for than many other decorating techniques. Decorative paint effects complement and enhance both traditional spaces and modern design principles and offer another way to achieve the finish you desire.

As the company has grown, Riflesso has become an established specialist in polished plaster and other decorative finishes. We serve clients ranging from individual homeowners wanting to upgrade a single room to architects, project managers, and interior designers with large development projects.
We are based in Berkshire and work predominantly in Berkshire, Surrey, London, and the surrounding areas, but we can and do travel throughout the UK for our clients’ projects.
