The TD6-16 handles 16 kg loads at a 1:18 filling factor, or 13 kg at the tighter 1:22 ratio – which is the more realistic figure if you’re drying heavier items like towels or bedding rather than lighter garments. The drum itself is 290 litres with a 680 mm diameter, and it reverses direction during the cycle. Reversing matters in a commercial setting because it stops large items like sheets and duvet covers from balling up, which means more even drying and fewer wrinkles – and fewer items needing to go back through for a second pass. Electrolux rate this machine at two full loads per hour under normal conditions.

Controls and Programming

The Compass Pro controller handles both automatic and timed programmes. Automatic cycles use moisture detection sensors to stop the dryer when the load has actually reached the target dryness level rather than just running for a set time, which saves energy and prevents over-drying. Timed programmes are there for when you need a fixed cycle – useful for specific textile types or when you already know your drying requirements. Moisture Balance is available as an optional add-on for more precise endpoint detection.

The display panel can be repositioned to the bottom of the unit if the dryer is stacked, so operators aren’t craning upward to read the screen or select programmes.

Lint Filter and Maintenance Access

The lint filter is a horizontal drawer positioned at a height that doesn’t require bending down to access – a small thing, but across dozens of loads per day in a busy laundry it adds up ergonomically. Servicing access is available from both the front and rear of the machine, which simplifies maintenance and reduces downtime.

Hygiene Programmes

The TD6-16 includes Electrolux’s Global Advanced Hygiene programme package, which delivers a log 6 reduction in microbial contamination during the drying cycle. That’s a 99.9999% reduction – a level that meets the requirements of healthcare, care home, and veterinary hygiene standards. For operations that need documented proof of compliance, the optional OnE Laundry connected platform provides remote monitoring, hygiene validation reporting, and process management from any device.

Dimensions and Installation

The machine measures 715 mm wide x 1,210 mm deep x 1,690 mm high and weighs approximately 189 kg. It’s a vented dryer, so you’ll need ducting to an external exhaust point – factor that into your site planning. The unit can be stacked with a compatible Electrolux washer if floor space is tight.
