This is a 2018 Fuji Acuity LED 1600 II – an 8-colour LED UV hybrid inkjet printer capable of printing on both roll media and rigid substrates up to 1,610 mm wide. It’s currently in production in the UK and available immediately. If you’re looking for a Fuji Acuity LED 1600 on the used market, this is a proven workhorse in the wide-format signage and display sector. Price on request.
Print Capability
The Acuity LED 1600 II runs a full 8-channel ink configuration: CMYK plus light cyan, light magenta, white, and clear. The light ink channels are what give the Acuity its near-photographic image quality on close-viewing applications – smooth skin tones, clean gradients, and minimal visible grain even on lighter tones. White ink opens up printing on transparent and coloured substrates, while the clear channel adds spot or flood varnish effects for tactile and gloss finishes in a single pass.
With ColorGate RIP software, this machine supports simultaneous two-layer printing (white plus clear) and three-layer printing (colour plus white and clear), which means you can lay down a white base, print colour, and add clear varnish in one run rather than making multiple passes. That’s a significant productivity gain for backlit displays, window graphics, and premium point-of-sale work.
Speed and Resolution
The Acuity LED 1600 II offers five print modes to balance speed against quality. In Express mode it runs at 33 m² per hour at 600 x 300 dpi – the fastest in the range and over 50% quicker than the original Acuity LED 1600. Production mode delivers 20 m² per hour at 600 x 500 dpi, Standard mode hits 13 m² per hour at 900 x 800 dpi, Quality mode runs 8.3 m² per hour at 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, and High Quality mode drops to 4.2 m² per hour at full 1,200 x 1,200 dpi for the finest detail work.
For most signage and display work, Production or Standard modes are the sweet spot – fast enough for volume output, sharp enough that the results hold up at normal viewing distances. Quality and High Quality modes are there when you need fine art reproductions, photographic prints, or anything that’ll be scrutinised close up.
Hybrid Versatility
This is a hybrid machine – it handles both roll media and rigid sheet substrates. The flatbed feed and receive tables are included, which means you can run rigid boards up to 13 mm thick and 12 kg in weight, or switch to roll media up to 25 kg without reconfiguring the machine. Maximum media width is 1,620 mm with a maximum print width of 1,610 mm and a print length of up to 200 metres on roll.
That hybrid capability covers a huge range of output: vinyl banners and vehicle wraps on roll, foam board and Dibond panels on the flatbed, Correx, acrylic, wood, glass – essentially any flat or roll substrate that fits within the dimensional and weight limits.
LED UV Curing and Ink System
The Fuji Acuity LED 1600 uses Fujifilm’s two-stage LED UV curing system. Small pinning lamps close to the Fujifilm Dimatix Q-class printheads freeze the ink dot immediately on contact, preventing spread and maintaining sharpness. The main LED curing lamps then fully cure the print. Output comes off the machine dry, fully cured, and ready for finishing or despatch – no drying time, no outgassing wait, no wasted production space.
LED curing also means significantly lower energy consumption than conventional UV, and the LED lamps last far longer – reducing both running costs and downtime for lamp replacements. The machine uses Fujifilm Uvijet LL LED UV curable inks supplied in 600 ml pouches.
