How the Martin Yale 7400 Works
You load up to 50 sheets into the feed tray, set your fold type using the clearly marked guides on two removable fold plates, press the green button, and the 7400 runs through the stack unattended at approximately 66 sheets per minute. When the hopper’s empty, it shuts itself off automatically — no need to stand over it waiting for the job to finish.
It produces four standard folds: letter fold (C-fold), half fold, Z-fold, and double parallel fold. The fold plates have ruler markings so you can hit the standard positions quickly or dial in custom fold points if your job calls for something non-standard.
There’s also a manual bypass slot on top of the machine for hand-feeding up to three sheets at a time — including stapled sets. That’s useful when you’ve got a cover letter stapled to an enclosure and need them folded together as one piece, or when you’re running a short batch that doesn’t warrant loading the hopper.
