What It Does
When you install an Enphase IQ microinverter system, the Q-Cable runs along your racking with connectors at regular intervals for each microinverter. At the end of each branch circuit, you’ll have unused connectors that need sealing against moisture, debris, and UV exposure. That’s what the Enphase branch terminator does – it caps off the open end of the Q-Cable to create a weather-tight seal that protects the electrical system and keeps the installation compliant.
For three-phase installations using Enphase round Q-Cable, this is the correct terminator variant. Two terminator caps are typically required per branch circuit – one at each end if you’re running a centre-feed configuration.
Important: One-Time Use Only
This is a single-use component. Once installed and the latching mechanism is engaged, the terminator cannot be opened and reused. If you open it after installation, the latch is destroyed and the cap must be replaced – the damage isn’t visible to the naked eye, so a reopened cap can look intact but won’t seal properly. If you need to rework a cable run or reconfigure your system, you’ll need a fresh terminator cap for each connection point.
